Social Networking

A social networking service is a platform where people with common interests or
activities can connect with each other. It allows you to share you views, ideas and
suggestions. You can also share audio, video and still images with your friends and
contacts. Some social networking sites also allow you to create groups that share
common interests.
You all must have heard about Facebook, a very popular social networking services
(Below Fig. ). Some other popular services are Tumblr, Google+ and Twitter.
These social networking websites are also used as marketing tools. These websites are
a store of a wide variety of information and knowledge. However, these services are
generally considered as a source of distraction for students from the point of view of
their studies.

A social networking service allows you to store a brief profile about yourself, your

photos, likes and dislikes. It allows you to maintain your friend list. You can post your

views and ideas as well as see posts of your friends and friend's friends.
